Bicycle tyre sealant is designed to plug small holes in the casing of a tyre when a puncture strikes, thus preventing a mid-ride stop. There are two different types of sealant on the market.
Standard tyre sealant is installed on a standard clincher and inner tube setup to prevent punctures. The liquid is injected into the inner tube.
Meanwhile in a truly tubeless system, tubeless sealant is the key component alongside compatible tubeless tyres and rims. Tubeless sealant is poured directly inside the casing of a bicycle tyre.
