Basso Diamante MAAP Ultegra Mens Road Bike - 2017

Can be purchased using Cycle to work

The Basso Diamante MAAP Ultegra Mens Road Bike is the collaboration bike all MAAP fans have been waiting for.  In early 2016 MAAP’s founders visited the Basso factory in Italy, the partnership between the two brands formed and the MAAP-Basso team was born.

The limited edition bike is built around the Basso Diamante frameset, which is manufacturered from Toray T1000 and T800 Hi Modulus carbon fibre pre-preg. This is widely used in the automotive, aviation and military industries, and this particular Toray is made even more resistant to impacts and fatigue stress through use of specific proprietary resins.

The monolithic front frame section, made by the semi-integrated front fork, frame, stem and headset provides a more aerodynamic and aggressive position. Comfort Fit allows you to raise the handlebars by 2cm via conical shaped spacers for a more comfortable and forgiving ride whilst maintaining the frames rigid characteristics.

This particular model is assembled with a full Shimano Ultegra groupset, providing it with 22 gears and performance that has been proven time and time again. It is equipped with Microtech MCT38 clincher wheels that are good all-rounder for both training and racing, with an aero 35mm rim design.

Finishing kit is provided by Basso’s Microtech range, including carbon fibre handlebars and seatpost, and is finished with a San Marco Mantra Carbon FX saddle.

There’s much more to the Diamante MAAP than meets the eye. Further technologies employed can be seen below:

  • 2Fit- Compatible with either mechanical or electronic groupsets
  • Wind Shape - Aerodynamic shapes for maximum air penetration
  • UCI Approved
  • Blade Front - Semi-integrated front fork/frame/stem/headset for improved aerodynamics
  • Comfort Kit -Handlebar height position adjustable by up to 2cm whilst maintaining the frames rigid characteristics
  • Tapered headset -  1-1/8” to 1.5” tapered fork and headset for improved rigidity
  • Carbon Tech - Manufactured with carbon fibres orientated at 0°/22°/45°, and with 3 types of woven carbon filaments: 1K, 3K and UD
  • Alloy Free - Monocoque frame without aluminium reinforcement parts
