Born from a passion for cycling and honed by a vision to design exquisitely crafted carbon fibre and aluminium bikes, Orro is a British manufacturer whose models scream quality, performance, innovation and style.
Whilst each of these core principles is equally important as the next, it’s innovation that really sets Orro bikes apart. Orro work with renowned British composite experts in order to manufacture unique, high-performance frames. Indeed, every bike carries the Orro Shape Design (OSD) logo as a sign of its quality.
Orro’s home in the Sussex downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty, provides both the design inspiration and the perfect testing ground for new models. As a nod to the evolving trend of road, gravel and adventure bikes the majority of Orro bikes use disc brakes for better, more controlled stopping power. Scroll to look at Orro bikes in more detail…
First up, it’s the Orro Terra Gravel. A lightweight, aluminium-framed road model with a smattering of gravel bike features. Thru axles front and rear, a low bottom bracket and clearance for 35mm tyres – all features that help when you lead the bike away from tarmac.
The Shimano 105 version with hydraulic disc brakes will make the perfect entry level gravel bike, or a dependable winter bike if you’re a committed, all-season road rider.
Stepping up from the Terra Gravel, you’ll find the Orro Terra C – a high quality carbon-fibre adventure bike. The frame includes Innegra impact protection, a material used in the layup of the carbon which helps the bike cope with the impacts of a rough and tumble gravel ride.
The 105 version, with hydraulic brakes, tubeless ready wheels and 42mm tyre clearance looks like a winner!
After something racier? Look at the Orro Venturi, a specially designed aero disc road bike. The Venturi is manufactured using a special carbon fibre from UK composite wizards Sigmatex. This results in a lower frame weight, whilst maintaining ride stiffness and comfort. Other things to note are the Venturi’s flat mount disc brakes, thru axles front and rear, aero seat post and tubeless compatible wheels.
Pyro Evo Disc
Moving away from adventure bikes and into a pure road model: the Orro Pyro Evo Disc. This is Orro’s road endurance platform - a carbon bike designed for big miles on tarmac. All the endurance bike characteristics are present and correct: oversize downtube for power transfer, slender seatstays and 28mm tyre clearance to absorb torrid road conditions, internal cable routing for excellent shifting performance and disc brakes to bring you to an assured stop.
Great Britain is a renowned leader in composite technology with companies deploying their expertise in fields such as Formula1 and the aerospace industry. Orro have capitalised on this, collaborating with the carbon fibre producer Sigmatex in the development of their all new Gold STC and STC Signature carbon fibre bike models. The Innegra impact protection material used in the Terra C, again from Sigmatex, is a further demonstration of Orro’s commitment to innovative use of composite materials in their bikes
