A British mountain bike brand through-and-through, Saracen can lay claim to being one of the forefathers of the discipline in this country. As early as 1984, the founding brothers of Saracen, Nick and Richard Crane, were riding Saracen mountain bikes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Today, Saracen’s small team continues to develop, innovate and evolve.
Saracen’s heart and soul is in mountain bikes. Models such as the Myst, the Mantra and the Tufftrax are popular with riders of all levels, from budding racer to trail bumbler and everything in between. This isn’t to say Saracen are all berms and 160mm travel. Their range of hybrid bikes and children’s bikes offer serious cycling performance at an affordable price point.
Since 2011, the UCI registered Madison Saracen mountain bike team, has provided the breeding ground for some of the hottest UK riding talent. Manon Carpenter rode her Saracen to victory in the World Championships and World Cup in 2014 whilst Danny Hart promptly scooped up two World Cup podiums and finished second overall in the end-of-year downhill standings after he joined the team in 2018.
